This contemporary kitchen design project needed imagination and a touch of creative flair to meet the clients’ brief — and the end result more than delivered. Our customers visited Now Kitchens after several unsuccessful attempts with other designers who had struggled to capture their vision of a truly creative and contemporary kitchen. The existing space was once a living room, so the challenge was to re-imagine it as an open-plan kitchen/diner that would bring the family together and create a sociable hub for everyday living.
The result is a contemporary kitchen design that feels both welcoming and highly functional. Ample storage was planned into the layout, along with a generous breakfast bar for casual dining and entertaining. High-spec appliances complete the scheme, making it the perfect space for sociable family cooking.

A carefully balanced palette of warm colours and contrasting textures sets the tone in this contemporary kitchen design. Matt doors in deep Burnt Umber are softened with warm Heritage Grey, while Copper Oxide accents add subtle metallic interest. Bronze handle rails and a Quooker tap tie the scheme together with understated luxury.
To enhance the sense of warmth, natural Farmhouse Oak shelving and a breakfast bar were paired with smooth, concrete-look Frozen Terra worktops. Antique glass mirrors bounce light back into the room, preventing the darker tones from overwhelming the space, while rich peacock blue tiles add depth and a pop of vibrant colour.
The result is a contemporary kitchen in Cornwall that combines creativity, practicality, and style. By layering textures, tones, and metallic finishes, this kitchen design achieves a unique personality while seamlessly fitting into the Cornish countryside setting.
